Health Support Programme

Behind every statistic of maternal and neonatal death is a family’s hope turned to sorrow. It’s the story of a young mother, full of dreams for her unborn child, who must travel for hours on a rough road to reach a clinic with no equipment. It’s the story of a father who watches helplessly as a preventable complication steals his wife and leaves him with a newborn in a community that lacks the resources to care for them. The Adeyinka Adesope Foundation refuses to accept this reality. Through our Maternal and Neonatal Health Support Programme (MNHSP), we are tackling this challenge head-on, working to replace fear with hope and risk with skilled, compassionate care.

To change these tragic stories, the MNHSP adopts a comprehensive and grassroots approach, empowering communities in Nigeria. We: Equip local maternity wards and clinics with the essential, life-saving tools they lack, from basic delivery kits to crucial medical equipment. Invest in training and upskilling local midwives, nurses, and birth attendants, ensuring every mother has a skilled hand to guide her through childbirth. Conduct awareness campaigns to educate women and their families on the importance of prenatal checkups and institutional births.

The true measure of the MNHSP’s success is not in the number of grants distributed or kits supplied, but in the lives that are forever changed.

By fostering these partnerships and providing these critical resources, we are building a robust safety net that ensures quality care is not a privilege, but an accessible right for every expectant mother and her newborn.
